Barry Langston

Being raised in the small coastal town of New Bern, North Carolina gave Barry Langston a unique perspective in his musical style. He taught himself guitar in the 7th grade and enjoyed it so much he pursued a degree in music at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

He has gone on to use his degree in many ways: from playing with some of the most illustrious acts in Eastern NC to teaching students in Carteret County. His almost 30 years of teaching music in public school have made an impact on numerous students and enabled them to find a love of music, just as Barry has.

Moving to Wilmington in the early 2000s, Barry has explored many opportunities in the Cape Fear Region. He has played for many concerts, beach music festivals, and special events, all the while garnering fans of all ages. He has played with the Spinners and Chairman of the Board, among others.

Barry currently performs on Thursday nights at the Olympia Restaurant and on weekends at Ted's on the River. Anywhere he performs, his easy-going style and laid back attitude are sure to draw you in and leave you with a relaxed feeling. Barry's down home appeal and vast knowledge of music contribute much of the character to Class Act.
